ASC SPEAK: BALANCE

This week has been crazy, friends. Between finalizing wedding details, training for the LLUH PossAbilities Triathlon, work, my business, getting sick(!!),  and all of these DIY projects, I'm down for the count! And it's only Wednesday! The honest truth is I meant to write this blogpost on Monday. But as life would have it, that didn't happen. I realized today that was strongly due to my not sticking to my regularly scheduled programming. My not getting enough sleep equaled being slightly sick, which equaled not having fantastic workouts, etc. etc. etc.Balance is important, yet often very hard to accomplish, right? However, it is absolutely necessary to live a long and happy life.[When im at my best], here are some ways I stay balanced:1. PLAN. Plan ahead! As Cam Newton's father once said, "Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance." This is so true! Whether that means writing things down, setting reminders in your phone, laying out your work clothes the night before, or simply eating right before a workout, planning to succeed is important.2. ORGANIZE. I have to be organized. Otherwise, I will go crazy! Now, I understand that this is not everyone's process, but thinking ahead in order to organize so that your plan will be successful is also very important. You may plan to finish a project, or acquire a new position at work, but if you don't organize the materials and/or steps needed to do so, you'll either find yourself stressed and scrambling near the day of, or sorely disappointed. Neither are positive outcomes!3. EXECUTE! Just do it.Once you've planned, and organized to accomplish your goals, just do it! I struggle with this often times, as a person who deviates both between "get it done 6 months in advance" and "I'll do it tomorrow." If you're thinking about it, just do it then and there! I've found that's the easiest way to get things done and out of the way. Break large projects down into manageable pieces, but work steadily on the pieces.Last, but not least, I have faith in you! Go out and be great!Having said that, I am now going to plan, organize, and execute some sleep!Night! 😴-AB
