THANKFUL 365

Happy Monday, friends.Welcome back after a much needed holiday weekend! As I sit working in the Phoenix airport, I'm looking at the to-do list for the weeks ahead and it seems like it's non-stop all the way into the new year! Anyone else's schedule looking like this? I'm tired already! This past Thanksgiving holiday was a new experience in that I spent it in Maryland with my in-laws. Even though it was different from being with my siblings and parents, I had a fantastic time learning more about my new family and where my hubby came from. This year has been a difficult one overall, but I’m learning that Thanksgiving isn’t just limited to one day. What has really helped make even the most difficult days bearable has been starting the day with thankfulness. Remembering that there is always a reason to be grateful keeps life in perspective and my faith grounded. In the process of being thankful last week, I had the chance to see DC/Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia! On Black Friday, rather than shopping, Dave and I spent our day sightseeing. We trekked through the National Mall, in 20-26 degree weather! As a born and raised Cali native, I wasn’t ready! At the end of the day I ended up donning one trench coat, one wooly sweater, one button-up shirt, some gauchos, socks and boots, leather gloves and two scarves!Even though I was super puffy-looking, I still enjoyed putting this outfit together and I hope you enjoy these pics from some of the coolest places to see in the National Mall.Seeing the sites is as simple as putting in "The White House" into your GPS and starting from there. Other monuments to see include the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Capitol Building, War monuments, Martin Luther King Jr. monument, and so much more.On your walk to the Capitol building If you’re ever in DC, make sure to visit! If you do, however, make sure to layer up and bring your warmest clothing! 😁How do you stay grounded outside of the holidays? I’d love to hear your thoughts.I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.-ASC
