THE [LAVENDER] HILLS ARE ALIVE!

Unfortunately, one of the places I didn't get to experience while in France were the lovely lavender fields. To my surprise, in searching for new experiences I discovered the Lavender Festival that takes place every year all over the country! So a few months ago my hubby and I went, expecting to see some small booths and maybe a pamphlet or two only to return home shortly after. Wrong! This festival was great, and completely lavender infused! From lavender sugar to basil olive oil the products and accessories available for purchase were almost too much!My pocketbook wasn't ready! And clearly neither was I because I was head over heels when I realized that all of the products being sold were organic as well! There were demos on how bread was made, tasting and sampling opportunities, and the cutest little shops. If you were hungry, never fear, because there were plenty of things to eat and drink.I had the some of the best cheesecake I think I've ever tasted, and a fresh veggie burger after!Live music was a great addition to the already calming event, and I was super excited that there were succulents of almost every kind available. And for those of us who don't have the greenest thumb, there were gardening and hydroponics classes! Who else has heard of hydroponics? If not, it's the future! Check it out! After exploring the grounds, we topped off the day with a horse-drawn carriage ride.I was dusty, tired, and all lavender-ed out, but happy!I left that day thinking, how did I not know about this before? Either way, I'll be back next year! What festivals do you all attend? I'm looking for ideas and suggestions! Let me know!Happy Monday!!
