ASC CLOSET HACKS: DIY SUNNIES ORGANIZER

I grabbed my keys, watch, purse and shoes, rushing around my apartment pulling last minute items together for a long day at work. Taking a quick glance out through my porch blinds, I realized it was incredibly bright outside, and I would definitely need a pair of sunglasses. But my work OOTD wouldn't allow for just any sunnies: my pair of gaucho pants, chunky heels and light top needed some edgy eyewear to compliment it! So, I looked for my favorite pair of sunglasses in the closet, under the bed, and in every purse I wore the week before. Needless to say, I couldn't find them, and in desperation I grabbed the nearest pair of sunglasses. Unfortunately, I arrived at work late, and only to find a large crack on the side of my chosen eyewear. After that day, I decided to get my sunnie life together once and for all! Have you ever had this experience? If anything like this sounds familiar to you, then this DIY is for YOU! I am so excited to share with you how I created this cute, cost-effective and trendy sunnies organizer that now holds every pair of glasses I own! Read on to see how I completed it!ASC HACK: SUNNIES ORGANIZERDIFFICULTY LEVEL: MEDIUMCOLLECT YOUR TOOLS:You'll need:- 1 yard of your favorite upholstery fabric-Old Bulletin board/13 x 15 wood board-Staple gun-1/4 Manila or jute rope-Scissors-Measuring tape-Large command strips (up to 5 lbs, to attach to desired wall area)-Your largest pair of sunniesLET'S BEGIN!!1. To ensure you have the right measurements for your fabric, measure your chosen board (length and width), and make notes of your measurements.(Measure length and width).2. Lay chosen board on fabric, and flatten. Cut around board, with approx two inches of hang over fabric.3. SAFELY pull up fabric on long side of board, and using stapler, staple fabric to board, with staples about 2-3 inches apart. Leave edges free for next step.4. Pull fabric up taut at corner......fold fabric inward towards board, creating a triangle....Fold fabric upward onto board, creating a clean corner triangle.5. Staple fabric in place in corner.6. Gather rope. Tie small knot in end of rope. This important for how the rope will be secured to your board.6. Holding your staple gun in one hand, and rope knot in the other, staple rope to the upper left corner of your board, with the rope going in the direction desired (NOTE: don't staple rope too close to the top; this is where your first row of glasses will hang).7.  Secure the rope by stapling it closer to the edge a second time.8. Secure rope a final time by stapling the rope to the side of the board. DO THIS CAREFULLY. Staple guns are very powerful!9.  Pull secured end of rope tight to close knot, furthering tightening rope. Cut off extra rope. Secure opposite end of rope in the same way.10. Hang your largest pair of glasses on the rope, in order to gauge where your next rope should be attached. Repeat steps 6-10 until you have no more space. 11. In the end, your board should look similar to this (see above).12. Now it's time to attach your command strips! Attach four of them as instructed in the package, so that your board looks something like the picture below.13. Last, but not least, attach your command strips to the wall per instructions. Allow the allotted time for strips to solidify. The final product!! I'm so happy all of my sunnies now have a happy home.Like it? Love it? Let me know!
