Everything You Need

Happy Tuesday lovely people! I’m officially 5 weeks into “quarantining” and the only reason I know it’s Tuesday is because of my weekly work-from-home meetings! 😩

To keep it 100, I’m over the coronavirus y’all. Like really. I’ve spoken about it already, but staying at home has been a true trial for this third-trimester pregnant extrovert. At the same time, I am acknowledging the blessing of being able to work from home while so many folks are out on the front lines, wishing they could be at home; however there are few things I would enjoy more right now than a long lap swim at my local gym and hugging all my friends.

A large part of the mental block of being home for me has been the idea that there were so many things I wanted to accomplish before the baby gets here in May...and letting go of a lot of those things has been hard.

On the other hand, this crisis has provoked a new sense of creativity for many of us, and really pushed me to question “what’s stopping me from still doing some of these things because I can’t leave my four walls?”

One of the “superficial” items on my to-do list was a B&W inspo maternity shoot. I had everything planned, down to the day and photographer I wanted. As COVID-19 became more of a thing, that dream faded...well until last Friday when I decided I was just going to do it myself, regardless!!

So as I look through these pics (which I feel like came out pretty decent for my amateur photography skills), I’m challenging you to get off that couch and get creative—can’t do something you wanted to do because of this viral mess? Well what are some ways you can be self-sufficient and still get some of what you want?

Let’s be honest—-it may still suck, and it won’t all be perfect. But the best part is that it’s an opportunity to stretch ourselves, find beauty and contentment in what we have, and maybe even find something better than what we thought we lost.

So what new thing will you be doing today? A new hobby, a new idea, maybe a new business you’ve been putting off? It’s worth giving some thought, friends. And who knows? Like me, you might find out you already have everything you need to be great...and that it was there all along.
